Zero Waste Certification in Peru

LIMA, Peru — September 21, 2026

Aiming to transform comprehensive solid waste management across Peru's productive sector, Syntropia Consulting S.A.C. and Global Zero Waste (GZW) announced the signing of a strategic collaboration agreement. Through this partnership, Syntropia assumes the role of an accredited consultancy to guide public and private organizations in Peru through the design, implementation, and preparation toward official certification of their Zero Waste Management Systems (ZWMS).

The Zero Waste Management System framework drives companies to transition from a linear model to a truly circular economy, integrating the 9Rs hierarchy (Refuse, Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Refurbish, Remanufacture, Repurpose, and Recycle). The core objective is to minimize waste generation, optimize operational efficiency, and reintroduce materials back into productive or high-value cycles.

This synergy positions the Peruvian market in an optimal scenario for adopting rigorous environmental standards, responding to the growing global demand for sustainable business models, regulatory compliance, and verifiable ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) metrics.

Furthermore, adopting the international ZWMS standard will enable local industries to prepare their facilities, processes, or specific waste streams for independent, third-party audits conducted by Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs).
