Zero waste strategy in Brazil: Global Zero Waste consolidates the circular economy at the Fórum Nacional Zero Lixo

On 1 July 2026, the city of São Paulo will become the epicentre of industrial sustainability in the region. The international Global Zero Waste network, in strategic partnership with ZEROS, will present the global macro-trends in sustainability and the movement's progress within the most competitive markets in Latin America.

SÃO PAULO, Brazil – In a key milestone for sustainability and international environmental management, the Global Zero Waste network has announced the Fórum Nacional Zero Lixo of the Affiliate Network.

The exclusive gathering — led by ZEROS — will take place at the prestigious D'Ferraro venue in São Paulo, from 9:00 a.m. (GMT-3). The event will bring together affiliated companies, certified organisations, approved certification bodies and key partners with a clear purpose: to build a highly competitive zero waste strategy in Brazil.

Global leaders driving the circular economy in Brazil

This special edition of the forum will feature the international participation of Sandra Pinzón García, Founder and CEO of Global Zero Waste, and Diego Camilo Romero Torres, Director of the organisation.

Both global leaders will set out the international roadmap on:

  • The macro outlook for the circular economy in Brazil and worldwide.

  • The future and reputational value of international certifications.

  • Territorial progress in zero waste models.

In addition, Mateus Peçanha, CEO of ZEROS, will lead a session analysing the uptake and progress of the model directly within the Brazilian business ecosystem.

Brazil: strategic ground for industrial sustainability

For the leadership of Global Zero Waste, choosing São Paulo for this institutional rollout reflects organic market growth: Brazil is an absolutely strategic country for implementing and scaling sustainability standards, thanks to its robust industrial potential and its alignment with global sustainable development goals.

"We are deeply excited to visit Brazil and take an active part in this forum. It is key ground where innovation and the circular economy are finding fertile soil. We are very keen to share global experience but, above all, to learn from the local success stories that are already transforming waste management in the region," the organisation's directors said jointly.

SGLZ Awards: recognising sustainable success

Alongside the high-level networking sessions, the official agenda will include specialist panels on circularity and presentations of corporate good practice.

One of the central moments of the day will be the presentation of the SGLZ Awards. This is an official recognition dedicated exclusively to organisations that have achieved outstanding results, duly audited and endorsed under the rigour of the Sistema de Gestão Lixo Zero.

Today the Fórum Nacional Zero Lixo stands as an indispensable meeting point. Leading companies understand that responsible resource management is no longer an isolated act of social responsibility, but a financial and strategic pillar for securing the future of their operations.
