Circular economy methodology to encourage the recycling of plastic materials

This methodology aims to increase and strengthen plastic recycling projects in the formal and informal sectors, since the latter is considered responsible for 58% of all plastic waste collected and recycled worldwide (Lau et al., 2020).

The methodology covers plastic recycling activities that recover plastic waste from the environment and reintroduce it into the value chain as raw material for industry or for manufacturing new products.
