Softys México earns Silver Zero Waste Certification and moves towards a more circular industry
In this article
In September 2025, Softys México reached a new milestone in its commitment to sustainability: obtaining Silver category Zero Waste Certification, awarded by ICONTEC with the technical backing of Global Zero Waste.
The recognition went to the Altamira and Valle de México plants, following a specialist assessment that verified compliance with the requirements of the International Standard for Zero Waste Management Systems – Version 5, reaching a score of 77.72 out of 100 points.
What does this certification mean?
Zero Waste Certification recognises organisations that turn their waste management into a sustainable, integral strategy that not only reduces environmental impacts but also promotes:
Resource optimisation
Waste prevention and reduction at source
Valorisation and recirculation of materials
Environmental education and culture within the organisation
Alignment with global circular economy goals
At Softys México, these components are visible in the consolidation of internal training programmes, awareness campaigns, improvements in operational processes and clear strategies for material circularity
A model of leadership and consistency
The step up to the Silver category reflects sustained work that brings together:
