Three organisations show that corporate sustainability really is possible
Promo Cali-Valle: pioneers in urban sustainability
On 15 August, Promo Cali-Valle received Zero Waste Management System (SGZW) Certification in the Gold category, awarded by ICONTEC and Global Zero Waste, becoming the first public waste-collection companies in Colombia to achieve it.
Representing their team, we highlight Angélica María Delgado Arbeláez (Manager), Edgar Cataño Sánchez (Sustainability Director), Pablo Alejandro Montoya Daza (Administrative Coordinator), Ángela María Mendoza Ledezma (Management Systems Director) and Angélica Carvajal Soto (Environmental Analyst).
Their commitment to reducing, reusing and recovering waste shows that urban sustainability can be a reality.

UPB: university innovation turning waste into opportunity
The Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB), in partnership with Tejido Verde and RECIMED, is driving the reuse of advertising banners to create sustainable products.
This initiative, led by the #UPBSostenible programme, gives a second life to materials once considered waste, turning them into useful, durable items.
As well as promoting the circular economy, the project supports labour inclusion processes and encourages work with local communities to strengthen the social fabric.

Plaza de las Américas: responsible management at the service of the city
The Plaza de las Américas Shopping Centre obtained Gold Certification of the SGZW, after reaching sustainable disposal of 69% of its waste, equivalent to more than 625.5 tonnes managed responsibly.
This achievement reaffirms its leadership as a benchmark in implementing circular strategies within the retail sector, contributing to a more sustainable and conscious Bogotá.
"Plaza de las Américas shows that sustainability is not a finishing line but a road of continuous improvement."
